Jigong is a deity under the Taoist hierachy of gods in heaven. This deity dresses up like a beggar and is drunk half the time.
The Jade Emperor depicted in the book is Sakkadevaraja (Sakka, King of Gods) in Buddhist terminology.
I guess Jigong and Gotama Buddha never officially met when Gotama was alive so Jigong was never mention.
And even of their meeting was recorded, Jigong would have probably been given a Pali or Sanskrit name so it will be anybody's guess.
