Don't be put off by not going and sitting and watching. All Buddhist Temples are for all and I am sure that someone there would love to be able to help you. Bringing flowers and offerings to the Buddha is Universal even if one's skin is diffeent.
When I was on my way home and stayed in Bankok, I was in great pain and I remembered I went to one of my favoite temples and my tears just flowed and a couple of Thai ladies came to see how they could comfort me. I didn't want to bother them but they wouldn't leave my side and stayed close and even after the temple was closed, one of them took me under her wing and I sat with nuns as they were folding the lotus's for offerings and showed me how to do it but I will always remember that compassion. The one that stayed with me took me the next day to a special temple that I had been looking for so just gather up your courage and go.
You will certainly be welcomed, I can assure you.
